PaperlistShared chores, a garden that grows when the house gets done

Designed and shipped Paperlist, Elzee Go's iOS-first family app - shared chores and a garden that grows when the house gets done, plus an AI assistant, recipe import from cooking videos, and Focus Mode that blocks distracting apps until a task is finished. Same cream-and-walnut language as RESÈT Home Care; a subscription can convert to store credit on resethomecare.com.

Paperlist is our own product, not a client commission. It sits next to RESÈT Home Care as a sibling brand and borrows its language: cream and walnut, terracotta accents, paper grain, serif type. The idea is simple. Families build habits together through shared tasks, a virtual garden, and gentle accountability.

The core loop is chores. A parent sets up the household, everyone joins with an invite code, and tasks get points. Finish one and it waters a plant the whole family shares. Plants bloom and move to a collection shelf, and three grown plants in a month become a real tree through Ecologi. Points turn into rewards the parents define themselves. Kids and parents both level up, which matters more than it sounds.

Around that loop we built three bigger features. An AI assistant that handles meals, groceries, workouts and task creation by chat, voice or a photo. Recipe import that takes a shared TikTok, Instagram or YouTube video and turns it into ingredients, steps and timers with a cook-along view. And Focus Mode, which blocks chosen app categories on a family member's iPhone until their chore is done. It runs on-device through Apple Screen Time. It is a chore unlock, not a monitoring tool.

Under the hood it is an Expo SDK 54 app on React Native with Expo Router, NativeWind, TanStack Query and Zustand. Supabase covers auth, Postgres with row-level security, realtime, storage and edge functions. AI calls go through a small Fastify service we host on a Hetzner VPS, so the app never holds a vendor key: Anthropic Claude for chat, Gemini for video and audio. Video ingest runs on self-hosted Cobalt and yt-dlp. Premium is one household-shared entitlement through RevenueCat, with a webhook writing into Postgres, and a subscription can convert to store credit on resethomecare.com. Sign in with Apple, a Share Extension and Family Controls round out the iOS build. Android is prepared, but iOS is the story.

Features that made the difference.

Family tasks

Shared lists with parent and child roles. Join with an invite code, watch the realtime feed as chores get ticked off.

The garden

Every finished chore waters a plant the whole family shares. Plants bloom and land on a collection shelf. Three plants a month becomes a real tree, planted through Ecologi.

Points and rewards

Tasks carry points. Kids and parents level up and redeem rewards the parents set themselves - ice cream, extra game time, whatever works in your house.

AI assistant

Chat or talk. Plan meals, build a grocery list, set up a workout, or create tasks in one message. Snap a photo of food or a label and ask about it. API keys never leave our servers.

Recipes from videos

Share a TikTok, Instagram or YouTube cooking video into the app. The AI pulls out ingredients, steps and timers, then walks you through the cook.

Focus Mode

Block Social, Games or any other category on a family member's iPhone until the chore is done. Runs on-device through Apple Screen Time, iOS 16 and up. A chore unlock, not a parental-control suite.

How it works.

01

Set up the household

One parent creates the family. Everyone else joins with an invite code.

02

Hand out chores

Assign tasks, give them points, and pick which apps stay blocked until they are done.

03

Finish and water

Ticking a task off waters the shared plant. The feed shows who did what.

04

Level up and redeem

Points turn into parent-set rewards. Three grown plants a month plant a real tree.
